"A cool fountain near where the Guerra family lives."
"We´ve got the Holy Ghost Plaza."
"Heading off to work"
"The Santanas, a family we visit every week"
"Possibly the last time we´ll see our mission leader (he´s heading off on vacation for a couple of weeks and we´ll be having transfers before he´s back)...sorry it´s blurry."
"Getting my earlier email interrupted by this blissful moment! So so happy to see Hna P :D!"
"I am one very, very very happy missionary. With all my mission buddies."
"I was so stoked to see those awesome hermanas that I´ve been missing so bad, too. We´re all going to spend the night with the Larsens tonight, and have a fireside just for the sisters. Should be pretty awesome. And then tomorrow we´ll have our conference. Woohoo!"
"This is from last Pday at the Larsens´"
"Those frisbees you sent were put to very very good use today. I didn´t realize how much I missed being with more missionaries until today. It was super fun. Even President Jackson got out and played Ultimate with all of us until he ripped a minor tear in his hamstring... no good."
I´m here in the chapel, anxiously waiting for the arrival of 2 past mission companions and a couple of good buddies. Hna Palomino, Hna Adair, Hna Cancado, and Hna Thunborg are all coming to the island!!!! We have a zone conference (I´m with President right now! He says "hi"), and I´m super duper excited to see sister missionaries... it´s been a few months, haha.
This also means that I don´t know how much time I´m going to have. Once everyone gets here we´re going to eat and head to the park.
And I got the frisbees!!! Those are super legit frisbees, too. "Ultimate Frisbee Players Approved." Awwh yeah. Thanks again for sending them!! I also got a letter from Alicia this week, which was awesome. Thanks for thinkin´ of me!! And I want you to know that I´ve tried fried bananas and dulce de leche (soooo good) and I'd love to see Mike´s work on the pirate game. :)
Updates!!
S----a is progressing like a boss. She´s been very pleased as we´ve been teaching about various commandments and she hasn´t had a problem with a single one. She was especially excited about the Word of Wisdom because she´s never liked any of the things it prohibits anyway, haha. I love teaching her because we can see how much she wants this for her family. She really wants to live with her mom again and finally be all together with her 3 younger siblings, and the Gospel´s been giving her the way/ hope to achieve that :)
And I wish you could meet our investigator, C-------n. It´s super fun teaching him, because he´ll stop us occasionally to explain things in his own words/make a very satisfying connection to something we´ve taught before. He actually really surprised us this week by praying every night and day, reading the chapter we´d left (and taking notes!) and then coming to the YSA institute/ dinner with us. He´s still waiting for a sign from God to let himself believe everything he´s learning, though. We´re still trying to clear that up...
We had a really heavy duty lesson with F--n, because we brought along A---m (He´s the most solid recent convert I´ve ever met. He just gets it. And like Dad says, he´s "all in"), who definitely overwhelmed F--n with his testimony and conversion story. Like I said before, F--n has just been meeting for curiousity´s sake. But I think he really needed that lesson, because now he at least sees where we see this all going.
It´s just awesome being able to testify to all of these people that the Gospel really is as great as it is true and perfect, and it WILL help them. If I were trying to give math advice (which we all know would just be a terrible idea), I could suggest a way to memorize a formula in a way that helps me, but it might not actually help them at all. If I were trying to help my comp do her makeup in a way that wouldn´t smear as we sweat in the heat all day, I could make my suggestions, but she may find a better way later on and then disregard my idea.
...The point I´m trying to get at is that when I talk about things outside of the Gospel, I can´t give the same kind of guarantee that my advice will work and it will help people. I love love love testifying. I know that it brings the spirit faster and stronger than anything else I can say. I love helping people understand the Book of Mormon and the Restoration.
I´ve been studying 1 Nephi 13, and I recommend that everyone gives it another look. The Book of Mormon is so important!!!
Other than that, there´s not much to tell. We met a kid on the bus the other day after getting on and then hearing him tell his friends all that he knows about Mormons. How we have to leave our computers and cell phones and everything to be missionaries, and when we get home, it´s obligatory to get married within one to two years, hahah. After talking to him, we found out that he lived in Utah for a month and lived with a family there to learn English. Cool kid. Hopefully we´ll get to teach him this week :)
Anyway, I better get to sending photos before everyone gets here.
I love you all!!!!

P.S. I wish I had more time to write to all of you. I need to tell Brad how much I (and Elder Wiltbank, who was sitting next to me) enjoyed his descriptions of the start of high school, and that no, Sna Piloto was not my Spanish teacher, but if you see a Sna Gaetzi, please tell her hello for me. I´ve been trying to get in touch with her somehow and nothing´s working. I know she´s now divorced so she has a new last name... anyway, she´s the one I gave the BoM to. I also always wrote about Mike´s mission in my essays about our family. Proud of you for getting Rookie of the Week, too. You da man.
I love you all!
